As it’s a rather unusual way to donate to a good cause, we often find ourselves wondering what it is that may have prompted people to donate their car to a particular charity. We reached out to some of the lovely people that have chosen to use Charity Car and had some interesting and moving responses about their car donations. So, we wanted to share their stories with you…
“I was so happy to be able to donate to the Donkey Sanctuary through Charity Car.
My old Audi Cabriolet was much loved. It was the best car I have ever driven, and we enjoyed many trips around Scotland’s West Coast and to the Dordogne in France in her.
Recently, my oldest and dearest friend Jackie (also known as Jax) passed away – she loved donkeys and supported the Donkey Sanctuary. So, my donation is for her and the Donkeys.

The Donkey Sanctuary
Jennifer chose The Donkey Sanctuary to receive the donation from her scrap car. The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the largest equine welfare charities in the world and has more than 6,000 donkeys and mules in its care across the UK and Europe. A donation like this helps the charity buy food and medicines, pay for veterinary care and helps build donkey shelters and hospitals. And, most importantly of all, it can rescue helpless donkeys from hopeless situations.
