Kids Club Kampala is a children’s charity with a Christian ethos working across East Africa.
Kids Club Kampala’s mission is to transform lives, empower communities, and alleviate poverty throughout East Africa. They achieve this by meeting the immediate needs of children and their families while securing their futures through child protection, education, and family support. Together, we can help more children move beyond survival and truly thrive.
The charity envisions a world where every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential. By remaining child-centred and prioritising the needs of the poorest, by 2035, they will have made a tangible impact on over 5 million lives. Children’s lives will be transformed through being able to access a good quality education, communities will be more resilient and safer for children to grow up in, and parents will be trained with vocational skills to help lift themselves and their children out of poverty.
Almost half of the total population of East Africa lives in extreme poverty. Millions of children face harm, abuse, and abandonment. Teenage pregnancy impacts almost a third of girls, and child marriage rates have surged in the last five years. High unemployment forces many families to survive on a single meal daily, intensifying widespread food insecurity and undernourishment. Limited access to education and skills training perpetuates this cycle of poverty, hindering income generation for families. Without urgent action, poverty will continue to hold millions back.
Kids Club Kampala has three important programme areas:
The charity provides free education for vulnerable children from early years schooling right through to university sponsorship, resulting in increased learning outcomes, improved self-esteem, social skills and concentration levels and better opportunities to enable children to reach their full potential. Since the start of the programme, Kids Club Kampala has given the gift of free education to over 1,890 children in Uganda.
Children are supported with emergency care, safeguarding and child protection support; resulting in improved knowledge, skills and mechanisms for children to be protected from harm, report harm and receive appropriate and adequate support. The charity’s Ewafe Project supports abandoned and at-risk children in the slums of Kampala, with the aim of reuniting children with their relatives and reintegrating them with loving families.
Kids Club Kampala provides opportunities to skill and strengthen families. The charity offers women free vocational training, business mentoring and resources for women who are currently unskilled and unemployed. A carpentry project provides young men and boys in the slums with the vocational and entrepreneurial skills they need to earn a regular income, support their families, and move out of poverty. The charity’s most recent graduates are now building better futures for themselves and their families.

A car donation could help to fund any of these incredible projects and the reward is the result of children and communities’ lives being changed for the better every day. Children who were severely malnourished now healthy, children going to school who previously had no hope of doing so, a mother being able to provide for her family, a previously abandoned child now in a loving home – Kids Club Kampala believes there is no greater achievement! Those stories are what keeps this passionate charity working hard and why they hope you’ll choose to donate your old car to this cause.
“Kids Club Kampala would like to say a huge thank you to the team at Charity Car and its generous customers who have chosen to recycle their used cars in this unique and effective way, raising hundreds of pounds for us. We really do appreciate your kind support, which is a huge blessing to our work in East Africa. Thanks to your old car donations we have been able to help more vulnerable kids survive and thrive. On behalf of the children and families we support, thank you so much!”
