St. Columba’s Hospice Care is based in Granton, Edinburgh, and exists to provide end-of-life care to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses and their families in Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Founded in 1977, the Hospice strives to enhance the quality of life for every patient in their care by paying attention to spiritual, mental and emotional needs as part of a person-centred package of care.
The hospice operates a 12-bed inpatient unit where patients can receive round-the-clock care in a tranquil and supportive environment designed to promote comfort and tranquillity, as well as offering pioneering virtual ward and community hospice care services.
The Hospice costs £11.13 million to run each year, and is reliant on donations for its funding. The Hospice is staffed by around 200 staff members, and 540 volunteers, and is open every day of the year. By supporting St. Columba’s through donations, you can contribute to enhancing the quality of life for those facing life-limiting illnesses and ensure that compassionate end-of-life care remains accessible to all who need it.
