Do you love an adventure on wheels as much as us? What’s better than combining your thrill-seeking hobby with raising money for worthy causes? We’ve got a calendar of fun ways to do just that, whether it’s on a bike, on a motorcycle, or in a car.
Promising far more excitement than your usual fundraising activities (who wants to run when you can ride!) these are challenges like no other. From crossing Europe in a banger to creating the biggest poppy using motorbikes. There are some wheely (sorry!) great ways to get involved:
Make the biggest poppy in the world, on the road! This unique fundraiser is to show support for the current and ex Armed Forces. The idea came from famous biker, Julia Stevenson, and it’s held annually on Remembrance Sunday on both the M25 in London and the M60 in Manchester.

There is no registration or ticket for this event, but you can donate to the charity (this year Homes4Heroes) at the meeting points. Participants are asked to congregate in the morning at designated service stations wearing red tops. Everyone taking part aims to set off around 1pm, travelling clockwise around the cities. The co-ordinated motorcycle loops create giant red poppies and an incredible atmosphere, truly honouring the armed forces. Join in here.
Drive your banger across Europe! Grab a couple of friends and head off on the adventure of a lifetime. The Motoscape challenge is to drive a car of your choice (banger or classic) to Prague, Venice or Costa Brava. All the routes provide breath-taking scenery, daily challenges, cash prizes and fantastic camaraderie. The organisation promises memories to last a lifetime.

You’re encouraged to take part for a charity, raising sponsorship funds, (that’s not compulsory though). Compete for the cause of your choice – in 2023 the event raised over £18,000 for charity.
You can register here.
Whether you’re a cycling pro or amateur rider, British Heart Foundation are inviting you to take on Europe’s oldest charity bike ride.

Pedal your way to Paris! Your 4-day journey ‘dans le saddle’ will start in buzzing London and pass through the beautiful English countryside down to Dover. After crossing the Channel to Calais, you’ll see historical WW1 landmarks and enjoy a scenic route via the small villages and medieval market towns of Northern France. The iconic finish will take you around the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysées and on to the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line.

Not only can you enjoy this glorious journey between two capital cities, you can also opt to make the trip a fundraising event for your chosen charity. So all that effort in the saddle can raise much needed funds for a cause close to your heart.
There are rides on various dates – you can find out more about the events and see which charities you can cycle for here.
These are once-in-a-lifetime experiences, so don’t miss out. Get your wheels ready and start raising money for charity!
And don’t forget… Another way to help a cause close to your heart using wheels is to donate your old car to charity with Charity Car. If your vehicle is ready to be scrapped, it will be responsibly recycled, or if it has enough miles left, we’ll auction it, either way, we’ll pass on the proceeds on to the charity of your choice.
