Donate your car to Butterfly Conservation

With Charity Car your old car could help fund Butterfly Conservation's ten year strategy to 2025 - building a stronger organisation capable of halting the rapid decline of butterflies and moths.

"Thank you to everyone who has recycled their used cars to help raise funds for Butterfly Conservation over the years. Your old car donations have helped fund critical conservation work across the UK. We can only continue our vital work to save butterflies and moths with the support provided by people like you and partners like Charity Car. Thank you again from everyone at Butterfly Conservation.”

More about Butterfly Conservation

With support from its President, Sir David Attenborough, Butterfly Conservation's work has begun to reverse the decline of several of the UK's most threatened species and aims to restore butterfly populations across the UK, in gardens, urban green spaces and the countryside. This should not only benefit innumerable other species, but also the health, wealth and well-being of the human population.

Butterflies are extremely valuable indicators of the state of the environment; providing vital insights into the changing state of wider biodiversity and the ecosystem services that depend upon it. Three quarters of the UK’s butterfly species have declined during the last decade; this is a warning that cannot be ignored. Butterfly Conservation runs schemes to record and monitor butterflies and moths, which involves thousands of volunteer recorders. These schemes provide over 30 million records, the data from which is used by the UK Government to indicate the health of the environment at national, UK and European levels; informing policy development including climate change.

As well as its world-renowned schemes, Butterfly Conservation runs over 30 Nature Reserves covering over 793 hectares of land - all havens for butterflies, moths and other wildlife. These beautiful creatures provide an important opportunity for the public to engage with conservation and the natural world and visitors are welcome to join in with events and work parties on these interesting sites.

While the charity's volunteers provide an incredible amount of help, donations are still desperately needed to continue the charity's vital work
