Donate your old car to Deki

Registered Charity number: 1137047

Deki is committed to empowering disadvantaged and marginalised individuals out of poverty by providing ethical, microfinance loans. We work in Ghana, South Africa, Malawi, Uganda and South Sudan to provide small scale loans to entrepreneurs who would otherwise not have access to such resources.

More about Deki

Almost half the world lives on less than £1.50 a day. Yet these are honest, hardworking people motivated by the same things as most of us: they want to make something of their lives, feed their families and send their children to school. With the capital to start a business, entrepreneurs can turn their lives around. Together we can empower them to work their way out of poverty.

Your old car donation could help this young charity change people's lives across the globe with a small loan, which can be re-invested to help even more people earn their way out of poverty. Every Deki entrepreneur receives business training with their loan; teaching them to plan wisely and use their income to support themselves in the future. Microloans create permanent change.

Local economy - In South Sudan, only 23% of the active population are formally employed. No job means little hope for the future. A Deki entrepreneur sets up a business and employs local people. So more of the community have the opportunity to work their way out of poverty with dignity, and the local economy is boosted.

Food and water - Right now, half of children under five in Malawi suffer from malnutrition. A microloan changes everything. Once an entrepreneur has set up their business they can afford to buy food and access clean water; leading to a healthy community and a break in the poverty cycle.

Gender equality - In South Sudan and other developing countries, women can’t access loans from banks due to gender discrimination. Deki microloans are available to everyone. Women are empowered to build their own businesses and fulfil their potential, enabling them to feed and educate their children, employ their neighbours and help their communities thrive.
