What happens on the collection day?

You'll need to have a few things ready:

  1. your ID
  2. documents for your car, if you have them (registration certificate, service history, MOT certificate)
  3. your car keys (including any locking wheel nut or electronic keys and codes) and security codes if you have them
  4. finally, don’t forget to remove any personal belongings and rubbish.

On the collection day we'll:

  1. check that your car matches the details you gave us
  2. check and take a copy of your ID
  3. take care of the DVLA paperwork
  4. arrange for your donation to be sent to your chosen charity.

You'll also need to notify DVLA that you've sold your car. If you've any remaining road tax, DVLA will refund you automatically.
