Charity Fundraising Events On Two Or Four Wheels

Posted on 9th Jan 2024 by Charity Car Posted in: Just For Fun

Do you love an adventure on wheels as much as us? Well, what’s better than combining your thrill-seeking hobby with raising money for worthy causes? We’ve got a calendar of fun ways to do just that on a bike, motorcycle or in a car.

Promising far more excitement than a bog-standard fundraising idea, these are challenges like no other. From crossing Europe in a banger to creating the biggest poppy using motorbikes. There are some wheely (sorry!) great ways to get involved:

The Motoscape Banger Rally – August 2024

Drive your choice of banger across Europe!

Grab a couple of friends and head off on the adventure of a lifetime. The Motoscape challenge is to drive a car of your choice (banger or classic) to Prague or Venice! Starting in France, you’ll see spectacular lakes and bridges on the open road, and get to soak up the breath-taking mountain scenery.

There are extra challenges along the drive, giving you the opportunity to win points! There are cash prizes for those with the most points, even for the best designed car and fancy dress… the heat is on!

You’re encouraged to take part for a charity, raising sponsorship funds, (that’s not compulsory though). Compete for the cause of your choice – in 2019 the event raised over £55,000 for various UK charities.

London to Brighton for BHF – June 2024

Whether you’re a cycling pro or amateur rider, British Heart Foundation are inviting you to take on Europe’s oldest charity bike ride this summer.

You’ll travel from the city to the coast, helping to raise vital funds for research that will improve millions more lives.

The charity promises 54 miles of smiles all the way to Brighton Beachfront and they will help you all the way – from training and fundraising tips to your finisher medal!

Find out more on the BHF website.

The Ring of Red – November 2024

Make the biggest poppy in the world, on the road!

This unique fundraiser is to show support for the current and ex Armed Forces. An idea developed by famous biker, Julia Stevenson, it occurs on Remembrance Sunday.

The event aims to create a circle of motor bikers, all dressed in red outfits, and riding clockwise round the M25. This forms a gigantic poppy in honour. As a rider, you can choose where to get on and off and can donate to the ride at the meeting points. The success of the previous events led to a similar ride on the M60 so you don’t have to live near the capital to be part of this momentous event.

London to Paris Tour De France Cycle – June or September 2024, July 2025

Pedal your way to France!

Embark on this Motor Neurone Disease Association event, cycling between the two capital cities and enjoy the glorious journey in between. Not only do you have a choice of dates, but you can also decide whether to self-fund or opt for a charitable sponsorship place.

Your 4-day journey ‘dans le saddle’ will start in buzzing London and pass through the beautiful English countryside down to Dover. After crossing the Channel to Calais, you’ll see historical WW1 landmarks and enjoy a scenic route all the way to Paris.

The iconic finish will take you around the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysées and on to the Eiffel Tower, which marks the finish line. If that wasn’t enough of a reward, you will also know that your donation and sponsorships will make a significant difference to people with Motor Neurone Disease and their families.

You can register here.

So, what are you waiting for?

These are once-in-a-lifetime experiences so don’t miss out. Grab your wheels and start raising money for some incredible causes!

Another way to help a cause close to your heart is to donate your old car to charity with Charity Car. When your car is ready to be scrapped, it is responsibly recycled and 100% of the value of your scrap car will be donated to the charity of your choice. Or if it has a few miles left we’ll auction it for the charity of your choice.
