The ARNI Institute provides specialist rehabilitation and exercise support for traumatic brain injury patients (such as those who suffer road traffic incidents), acquired brain injury (such as those who suffer stroke) survivors and families after hospital and community physiotherapy finishes.
Many survivors feel ‘stuck in limbo’ after their standard therapy comes to an end. The ARNI Institute was formed in response to that; to provide a lasting treatment that will give survivors as much independence as possible. The charity relies on volunteers and would use car donations to help fund their vital work – helping survivors with partial paralysis and other limitations incurred via injury to make as full a recovery as possible.
The ARNI approach is an innovative treatment within the field of rehabilitation with an international reputation. The charity trains and provides specialist instructors and therapists, teaching functional ‘retraining’ strategies to enable people to take charge of their own recovery. The ARNI team supports the NHS by taking over from the initial therapist a patient will have seen and makes daily activities the ‘retraining’ that brain injury stroke survivors need to help themselves.
