Founded in 2003 Hope for Tomorrow aims to alleviate some of the stresses and strains associated with receiving treatment for Cancer via the provision of mobile cancer care units to NHS Trusts.
In 2007 Hope for Tomorrow launched the world’s first mobile cancer care unit. In a unique partnership with the NHS, these state of the art, well equipped units are built, maintained, and owned by the Charity, and provided to the Trusts to operate with their highly qualified staff.
Hope for Tomorrow’s mobile cancer care units allow cancer patients to receive treatment in a restful environment closer to home, saving stressful long distance travel and minimising waiting times.
To date, the charity has 12 units in operation throughout the UK, with 2 reserves to ensure the continuity of service, and it is their dream to have a mobile cancer care unit operating in every county. Your old car donation will not only help to fund the provision of new units, but will also help to keep the current fleet operational.
Each mobile cancer care unit can travel five days a week throughout their counties of operation, to five treatment locations, and have the capacity to treat between 18 to 20 patients a day.
Additionally, your old car could be used to help fund a Nurses Support Vehicle, one of which is also supplied to each Trust, and allows the nursing team to travel to and from the daily treatment location of the unit, along with any additional equipment that is required.

“Fortnightly chemotherapy sessions seem like a treadmill but it is not the vital treatment that causes stress but external irritants like getting there, parking, travel costs, long waiting periods etc. I am self-employed, so time is even more valuable to me than the travelling costs to/from Cheltenham twice every fortnight.
Today I was able to ‘just pop out for chemo’ with a short 5 minute journey to meet my 10am appointment for a two hour chemo session. I was treated by friendly staff who were obviously proud of their new unit, had an enjoyable experience with other similarly contented patients and was back at my workplace in time to do a full afternoons work.”
